St. Jerome School was established in 1962. With a low student/teacher ratio, St. Jerome serves the needs of students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. St. Jerome School is accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department, an accrediting agency approved by the Texas Education Association.
In conjunction with the St. Jerome Catholic Community, the mission of St. Jerome School is to provide all students with a Christ-centered education secure in their love of God and Christians in the challenging years ahead.
Religious Education: Instruction in Catholic doctrine, liturgy, and Christian values is given daily. Attendance and participation at Mass, daily morning prayer, and para-liturgical celebrations help nurture the students' spiritual growth and development.
Core Subjects: Reading / Literature, Language Arts, Spalding Phonics (grades K-4), Mathematics, Algebra (grade 8), Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Music, Spanish, and Computer Education.
Learning and development extend beyond the classroom. Student Council, Drama, Scouting, Ballet, Piano, Band and Choir are areas in which students can participate and grow. Students in grades 6-8 may play on school sponsored athletic teams. Featured sports include soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track. Students in grades K - 5 who are interested in sports, are invited to play on teams sponsored by the Sports Association of St. Jerome Parish.
St. Jerome School houses twenty-three classrooms including a science lab and a computer lab. The campus also has a library, clinic, and gymnasium. Hot lunch service is available at a nominal cost. Students attend Mass at St. Jerome Church.
St. Jerome School operates before school care from 6:30am - 7:30am, and an extended day program from 3:00pm - 6:00pm each school day to accommodate those families in need of before school or after school care. Daily activities for the students include arts and crafts, snack time, outdoor play, and study time.
