Shut-Ins and Hospitalized

What we do
We are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who, as part of our ministry, also take the Eucharist on Sundays to the sick or elderly confined to their homes or who are in Spring Branch Hospital or residents of Golden Age Manor nursing home; sometimes, we also provide other assistance or helpful service as needed on an individual basis. Through our brief, scheduled visits, we hope to provide a measure of spiritual and emotional comfort during the person’s confinement.

How often we meet
We have no regular meetings, but workshops are scheduled several times a year for current and prospective extraordinary ministers.

Time commitment other than meetings
We serve on a regular monthly or bi-monthly schedule; the typical weekly round takes from 2 - 4 hours.
